Located in one of the most iconic buildings of downtown Reykjavik, Hverfisgata 12 is an eclectic mix of American rustic, old carnival and part museum. With multiple rooms, Hverfisgata 12 still manages to give a sense of being private and personal.
Mikkeller & Friends
Mikkeller & Friends Reykjavík is a collaboration between the people of KEX and the highly acclaimed breweries Mikkeller and To Øl from Denmark. We serve beautifully fresh beers from the two breweries on 20 taps as well as we hold a selection of over 100 bottles, some being pretty rare. Frequently we have special beers from special friends on our blackboard. Check it out here.
The design of the place is a fusion between Hálfdán´s Pedersen´s prestige work and the breweries two designers, Kasper Ledet from To Øl and Keith Shore from Mikkeller.
DILL Restaurant was established by chef Gunnar Karl Gíslason and sommelier Ólafur Örn Ólafsson in early 2009 and right in the middle of Iceland’s economy collapse. DILL’s philosophy is inspired by the New Nordic Cuisine Manifesto. DILL tries to use what surrounds them and embrace the Old Icelandic traditions in their own way. They allow their ingredients to shine in their own simplicity without all accessories but most importantly they try to have fun while they’re are at it.
Gunnar left Iceland in the beginning of 2016 to New York where he now lives with his family and runs the highly acclaimed New Nordic Restaurant Agern which is owned by one Claus Meyer.
